EPL Betting Picks 2021-22: Matchday 7
The exciting EPL season continues this weekend with action from Matchday 7. As always, we bring you our best betting picks from some of the key fixtures. Good luck to everyone following!
Manchester United vs Everton
Saturday 7:30am ET
Manchester United suffered a shock loss at home to Aston Villa last weekend after Bruno Fernandez skied a 93rd minute penalty. That loss was the first of the Red Devils Premier League campaign and one they were able to quickly put behind them with a 2-1 win in the Champions League midweek.
Everton continued their dream start to their Premier League campaign with a professional 2-0 win over Norwich last weekend to remain a perfect 3/3 on their home deck. The Toffees remain just one point behind the ladder-leading Liverpool and can momentarily claim top spot with a positive result at Old Trafford.
Both clubs have been in good form through the first six weeks of action and will be confident of coming away with a result in the rounds opening fixture. However, United are the deserving favorites on their home deck and we expect them to get the job done in an entertaining match.
Chelsea vs Southampton
Saturday 10am ET
Chelsea’s undefeated start in the Premier League came to an end last weekend when they hosted league champions Manchester City. The Blues were totally dominated in that match from start to finish and failed to register a single shot on target. They were unable to redeem themselves midweek in the Champions League either, going down 1-0 away to Juventus.
Southampton went into their home clash against the Wolves with great confidence after a handful of impressive performances against top tier Premier League sides; however, their struggles to find the back of the net continued and they ended up going down 1-0 in a disappointing defeat. The Saints remain winless after six fixtures.
Chelsea were firing on all cylinders up until their two most recent 1-0 defeats, albeit against two of the better sides in the world of soccer. Thankfully, they have the perfect opportunity to bounce back and regain their form with a big win at home against the winless Saints – we expect them to do just that.
Liverpool vs Manchester City
Sunday 12:30pm ET
Liverpool went into their Premier League clash with Brentford as the hot favorites but weren’t quite able to fulfil their duties as they played out an entertaining 3-3 draw. Nonetheless, the Reds remain the only undefeated team in the competition through six matches and sit one point clear at the top of the table.
Manchester City were held to a goalless draw against Southampton two weeks back, but quickly made amends with a thoroughly impressive 1-0 away victory against Chelsea last weekend. The Citizens denied the Blues a single shot on target and with that win they remain just point behind Liverpool at the top of the table.
We’ve got an early 1st vs 2nd clash in Matchday 7 between the two powerhouses in the modern day Premier League. Liverpool will have been the slightly more consistent of the two and will have the advantage of the home crowd this weekend, which is enough for us to take on the very juicy odds of around +187.
