EPL Betting Picks 2021-22: Matchday 6
The exciting EPL season continues this weekend with 10 more matches. We went a perfect 3/3 with our betting picks last weekend, hitting on plays with odds of +100, +170 and +210! Let’s keep it rolling with some more wins in the coming days.
Chelsea vs Manchester City
Friday 7:30am ET
Chelsea have had a dream start to their campaign and sit on top of the EPL table after five matches. They absolutely dominated the Spurs last weekend despite being the away side, banging in three goals and never looking like conceding. Now with four wins and a draw to their name, the Blues are looking every bit like a contender this season.
Manchester City were extremely short-priced favorites in their home fixture against Southampton last weekend, but just weren’t able to find a way through the Saints defense and ended up playing out a nil all draw. That game aside, City have looked very strong in attack in recent weeks, banging in 5+ goals in four of their last six matches in all competitions.
What a fixture we have on our hands to kick off what promises to be an exciting Matchday 6. The bookmakers haven’t been able to pick a clear favorite for this clash but we slightly disagree and believe Chelsea deserve to be the shorter price. They’ve been fantastic in all five matches to date and with the home crowd on their side, we expect them to get the job done against City.
Southampton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sunday 9am ET
Southampton secured one of the best points they’ll get all season when they drew on the road against Manchester City last weekend. The Saints not only kept the Citizens goalless, but they also remained a constant threat going the other way. They’ve now claimed points from four of their five matches to date.
Wolverhampton Wanderers put in their worst performance of the season to date last weekend against Brentford, losing 2-0 on their home deck. The Wolves were peppering the Bees late in the game but were just unable to find a breakthrough. Now with only one positive result from five matches, the Wolves need to find some better form as soon as possible.
Although winless through five matches, the Saints have been the far better performing and more consistent team in this fixture. They’ve had draws against three teams that finished in the top six last season and as long as they can replicate a similar performance this weekend, then they should prove to be too good for the underperforming Wolves.
Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur
Sunday 11:30am ET
Arsenal had a horror start to the season with losses in each of their first three matches, but have been able to steady the ship over the past fortnight with wins against both Norwich and Burnley. The Gunners certainly weren’t all that convincing in their two victories however, and simply must improve if they’re to compete for a top six spot this season.
Tottenham were no match whatsoever for Chelsea last weekend despite having home ground advantage on their side. They were smashed 3-0 for the second consecutive match and look to be lacking a bit of hunger on the pitch. After winning each of their first three matches of the season, the Spurs now find themselves in seventh spot on the table.
This is a fixture between two clubs who are playing nowhere near the standard of a top six club in our opinion. They’re both lacking firepower and creativity up front and that’s resulted in the Both Teams to Score market failing in all 10 combines matches they’ve played this season. We see no reason why that won’t continue this weekend.
