EPL Betting Picks 2021-22: Matchday 33

EPL Matchday 33 Betting Picks

A six game slate beckons this weekend with the FA Cup semi finals taking place, with Arsenal and Tottenham’s battle for fourth position the major storyline for Matchday 33. As always, we’ve got you covered with our best picks for this weekend’s EPL action!

Tottenham vs Brighton

Saturday 7:30am ET, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Four consecutive wins has seen Spurs take the upper hand in the race for fourth after a horror fortnight for Arsenal. Arsenal have a game in hand on Tottenham, however with Tottenham sitting three points ahead as well as having a ten goal advantage on goal difference – Spurs are in control of fourth place currently.

Brighton travel to London on the back of an outstanding defensive performance that saw them upset Arsenal 2-1 last weekend. Brighton had twelve less shots than Arsenal and only 35% possession, but held the led from the 28th minute onwards. Tottenham’s star duo of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son continued their outstanding run of form against Aston Villa. Son and Kane have combined for thirteen goals in Tottenham’s last seven Premier League matches. Son has 17 goals this season and is second in the Golden Boot race, while Kane is equal third with 12 goals. Kane is also ranked fifth in the Premier League for assists, with eight.

Brighton have relied heavily on their defence, ranking 18th in the Premier League this season for goals, with 28.  In comparison, Tottenham have scored 25 goals in their last six games. Spurs will be too strong for Brighton in this fixture and make it five wins on the bounce.

Southampton vs Arsenal

Saturday 10:00am ET, St Mary’s Stadium

Despite being in the box seat for the majority of the season, consecutive defeats to Crystal Palace and Brighton have put Arsenal behind the eight ball in the battle for fourth place on the Premier League table. The Gunners take on Southampton looking to bounce back and to keep within distance of Tottenham. Southampton have been in a rough patch of form, without a win from their last five games with their most recent outing a 6-0 defeat against Chelsea.

Southampton’s defence has been a major weakness this season, ranked 15th in the Premier League. Southampton have allowed fifteen goals in their last five matches and it’s going to be a tough outing against an Arsenal team that has a plethora of goal scoring threats.

Arsenal have enjoyed playing Southampton in recent seasons, with a 7-3-1 record in their last eleven Premier League fixtures against the Saints. Arsenal have to get back to winning ways, and you can expect a serious bounce back performance from a side desperate to stay in the hunt for a Champions League berth.

West Ham vs Brighton

Sunday 9:15am ET, London Stadium

West Ham will be riding a wave of momentum after a stirring Europa League victory this week, as they face relegation bound Burnley. The Clarets have lost five of their last six matches and are four points adrift from seventeenth place with only eight games remaining.

The difference in scoring power between two teams is a factor that Burnley can’t overcome. West Ham have the fifth ranked attack in the Premier League this season with 51 goals this season. Burnley rank ninteenth, scoring just 25 goals from 30 games.

The home ground advantage will be a huge factor in this clash. West Ham have a 9-3-4 record at the London Stadium this season, while Burnley have a 1-6-8 record in away games. The Hammers have a great opportunity to flex their muscle and pick up a big win at home in this clash.
