There were upsets left, right, and centre in the EPL last weekend, which made it tough for punters to find some winners. We’re expecting normality to resume in Matchday 6 as we present our best picks!
EPL Matchday 6 Betting Picks
Manchester United vs Chelsea
Saturday, 12:30pm ET
Manchester United were trounced by Tottenham 6-1 just a fortnight ago, but were able to bounce back with a 4-1 win against Newcastle last time out. The Red Devils had to wait until late in the piece to make their move, but a flurry of goals saw them secure a valuable three points.
Chelsea looked a sure thing to secure maximum points when they hosted Southampton at the Bridge last weekend. It was the Timo Werner show early in the first half with two class goals, but the game changed at half time and the Saints pegged them back to finish the game 3-3.
Both of these clubs have been leaking far too many goals early in the campaign, and we don’t expect it to change this weekend. We’re expecting a goal fest, so take whatever line you’re comfortable playing here.
Liverpool vs Sheffield United
Saturday, 3pm ET
Liverpool played their part in a thrilling Merseyside derby against Everton last weekend, which finished up all square at 2-2. There was plenty of late drama of course, with a VAR decision overruling a Henderson stoppage time winner. The Reds also endured a tough, tough loss with Van Dijk going down with a serious knee injury.
Sheffield United have had a horror start to the new campaign and are one of four clubs yet to find a win. They earned their first point of the season last weekend when they drew 1-1 with another struggling club in Fulham.
Liverpool’s defense remains a big concern early in the season, but a clean sheet in their midweek UCL clash with Ajax was a big step forward. They’ll have another opportunity to keep a clean sheet this weekend against a Blades outfit that struggles to find the back of the net at the best of times. We’re expecting a low scoring affair that finishes 1-0 or 2-0 to Liverpool.
Arsenal vs Leicester City
Sunday, 3:15pm ET
Arsenal put in a decent performance against Manchester City on the road last weekend, but failed to come away with any points. The Gunners have made a pretty good start to the season and have only dropped points to the two big title fancies in Liverpool and City.
Leicester City have hit a form slump after an impressive start where they won each of their first three games. Their last two performances have left a lot to be desired, and they’ll need to turn it around ASAP to avoid falling out of contention.
This would probably have been a near even money game if it was played a couple of weeks ago, but due to current form the Gunners will start as the odds-on favorites. It’s hard to argue with the Bookies here, as we see Arsenal being too good for the out of sorts Foxes at the Emirates.
