EPL Matchday 20 Betting
Manchester City vs Sheffield United
Etihad Stadium, Sunday 1pm ET
Our best pick comes from the last fixture of the round between Manchester City and Sheffield United. City come into this off a very disappointing defeat away to the Wolves midweek, which was their second loss to them this season. This one hurt even more than the first however, considering they were up 2-0 at the main break. The Citizens are now a whopping 14 points behind league leaders Liverpool on the table and look to be fighting for the minor placings.
Sheffield United come into this off a 1-1 draw against Watford, which they could be a bit disappointed with considering the chances they missed in front of goal. Nonetheless, it’s yet another game in which the Blades finished unbeaten, and they’ve now lost just four of their 19 fixtures so far this season, which is the third best in the competition.
City haven’t been at their dominant best this season, especially in defense where they’ve conceded 23 goals in 19 league fixtures. On the other hand, the Blades are extremely hard to beat and have scored 11 goals in their 9 away fixtures. All things considering, the price for both teams to score looks to be a great play here.
Best Pick: Both Teams to Score (-115 PointsBet)
Liverpool vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
Anfield, Sunday 11:30am ET
Another fixture we have a keen interest in is Liverpool vs Wolves on Sunday morning. Liverpool brushed off fellow contenders Leicester City a couple of days ago in a brutal display away from home. They banged in four goals against the Foxes and kept their third consecutive league clean sheet. That win took the Reds 13 points clear of them on the table with an extra game in hand.
The Wolves completed the double over City when they came from 0-2 down to win 3-2 in their midweek clash. It was yet another fantastic side from a club that looked to be in a bit of trouble early in the season. The Wolves are now in seventh spot on the table and have a chance to climb into the top four if they win this and other results go their way.
As good as the Wolves have been recently, it’s just impossible to oppose Liverpool at the moment. They’ve won 26 of their last 27 league matches and haven’t lost at Anfield in a major competition in over three seasons. You’d be mad to bet against them here and we’re keen to take the price on them winning by 2+ goals.
Next Best: Liverpool -1.5 (-109 PointsBet)
