Boxing Picks & Predictions, Featuring Amanda Serrano & Alycia Baumgardner

Boxing Picks & Predictions, Featuring Amanda Serrano & Alycia Baumgardner

This weekend’s busy boxing schedule rolls into Saturday, with two undisputed world title fights taking place on DAZN live from the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Alycia Baumgardner defends her super-featherweight WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring belts against Elhem Mekhaled. The winner also wins the vacant WBA title.

The main event features Amanda Serrano and Erika Cruz in a unification bout with both fighters putting featherweight belts on the line. Serrano brings the WBC, IBF, and WBO belts. Cruz brings the WBA belt.

Let’s break down each fight and see if we can find any betting value.

Alycia Baumgardner vs. Elhem Mekhaled Prediction, Odds & Pick

Baumgardner is coming into this fight with a record of 13-1 (7 KOs). Her last fight was 3 months and 20 days ago against Mikaela Mayer, which she won via 10-round split decision.

Mekhaled comes in with a record of 15-1 (3 KOs). Her last fight was 8 months and 14 days ago against Delfine Persoon, which she lost via 10-round unanimous decision.

Baumgardner is a massive favorite at -700, while Mekhaled is priced at +425. I don’t see any way that Baumgardner doesn’t win this fight. She has power and I think it will lead to a stoppage as her method of victory.

Pick: Baumgardner by KO, TKO or DQ (+260 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

Amanda Serrano vs. Erika Cruz Prediction, Odds & Pick

The main event will feature an undisputed world title fight when Amanda Serrano and Erika Cruz put their featherweight belts on the line.

Serrano is coming into this fight with a record of 43-2-1 (30 KOs). Her last fight was 4 months and 11 days ago against Sarah Mahfoud, which she won via 10-round unanimous decision.

Cruz comes in with a record of 15-1 (3 KOs). Her last fight was 5 months and 1 day ago against Jelena Mrdjenovich, which she won via 10-round unanimous decision.

Serrano is priced at -600, while Cruz is at +400. This should be a tough victory for Serrano, but still a victory. Cruz is a solid boxer, but Serrano is the better boxer and possesses more power. While it’s not going to be a walk in the park, I expect Serrano to win on the cards – maybe 9-3 or 10-2.

Pick: Amanda Serrano by decision (-150) at DraftKings Sportsbook
