Chelsea
The boys in blue got their English Premier League campaign underway the weekend just gone as well. To say they got off to a slow start would be one of the great understatements. They went down by four goals to nil against Manchester United at Old Trafford in an absolute listless performance. It really was disappointing to see club champion Frank Lampard get his managerial stint at Chelsea off to such a poor start. They now get a chance to quickly redeem themselves with a mid-week match, but the opposition certainly doesn’t get any easier.
History
Liverpool and Chelsea play each other at least twice per year in the English Premier League as well and in cup matches like this every now and then. Liverpool won their most recent meeting (see highlights above), but the points have been shared in recent times for the most part.

What a fantastic match we’ve got on our hands between two sides coming off completely difference performances on the weekend. Blues fans will be hoping for a much better performance from their mob, while Reds fans will be looking for much of the same. Unfortunately for Blues fans, we believe it’ll be much of the same for the Reds. Liverpool are the far better team of the two and will be brimming with confidence. Expect to see them win this in a fairly high-scoring affair.
