Champions League Betting Picks
Manchester City vs Dinamo Zagreb (Tuesday 3pm ET)
Manchester City have looked the goods again so far this season, although they have had a couple of minor slip ups in the Premier League. When they’re firing on all cylinders they’re just about impossible to stop, especially when they’re at home. City haven’t had the greatest of success in the UCL in recent seasons, but they’re more than capable of making a deep run this year.
Dinamo Zagreb play their domestic football in the Croatian Football League and are always a dominant force there. However, they haven’t been able to deal with the step up to the UCL well at all and aren’t expected to do much damage again this year either.
City are a side that never lets up regardless of how many goals they’ve already scored. We’ve already seen them knock Watford for eight this season and we expect them to bang in 4+ against Zagreb.
Pick: Manchester City Score Over 3.5 Goals (-112 DraftKings)
Tottenham Hotspur vs Bayern Munich (Tuesday 3pm ET)
Tottenham famously made it all the way to the final of the UCL last season where they were defeated by Liverpool in devastating circumstances. The Spurs haven’t had a fantastic time since that final and currently sit in sixth spot in the EPL, although they’re still a force to be reckoned with on their home deck.
Bayern Munich remain undefeated through six matches in the Bundesliga and will likely win the league yet again, although it is only early days. They haven’t been able to make a really deep run in the UCL in recent seasons however, so they’ll looking to change that this season.
Tottenham may not be in the greatest of form at the moment, but they always seem to produce their best in the UCL regardless of their domestic form. We expect them to put up a hell of a fight against the German champions and potentially cause an upset.
Liverpool are absolutely flying in the EPL at the moment, winning all of their seven fixtures so far. However, their UCL campaign got off to a horror start when they lost to Napoli 2-0 on Matchday 1. Now back on their home deck where they haven’t lost in over two year in major competitions, they have a great chance to get off the mark.
Salzburg are an Austrian team that is absolutely dominating their domestic league at the moment, like they have for quite a while now. They also made a deep push in the Europa League last season, knocking off quality opposition along the way. Now in the UCL, it’ll be interesting to see how they cope.
Liverpool’s home record in both the EPL and the UCL is impeccable and gives us great confidence in backing them. They may have lost to Napoli on the road last time out, but we expect them to bounce back at home and win by 2+ against inferior opposition.
