The Mavericks have been strong to start the NBA season, maintaining a 7-5 record through their opening 12 games to sit in 6th place in the West. They have one of the best defenses in the league in the opening part of the season, allowing just 107.2 points per game, ranked 4th in the league.

The Clippers sit one spot behind their opponents in the West in 7th place with a 8-6 record. Star guard/forward Kawhi Leonard is still battling injury and has missed the last 12 Clippers games. He’s set to be out again on Tuesday night, so the majority of the scoring load will once again fall on the shoulders of Paul George.

The Mavs start as 7 point favourites at home, which I think is a bit much even with Kawhi out of the line-up. The Clippers have won six of their last eight games and have knocked off strong opponents in the Cavaliers and Nets during that time. I think they cover here.

After many predicted them to be one of the cellar dwellers in the West this season, the Jazz have gotten off to a hot start, sitting 3rd in the conference with a 10-5 record. They have, however, lost their last two games on the road to the Wizards and 76ers.

The Knicks sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with a 6-7 record. They are coming off a loss to the Thunder in a high scoring game on Sunday night and will be looking to bounce back. The Knicks have struggled on the defensive end this season, averaging 116.8 points against, ranked the 6th worst in the league.

I think this one goes over hte 231.5 mark. As mentioned above, the Knicks have struggled on defense this season while the Jazz have been one of the top ofensive teams in the league, averaging 116.9 points per game. Should be a shootout here.
