Eight game slate in the NBA this Sunday, the 20th of November and as always, we have you covered with a preview for the key games below.
NBA Sunday Picks
Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers
Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, 7.00pm (ET)
The Cavaliers have started the season in solid form, currently sitting in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 9-6 record. They have been getting the job done on both sides of the ball, ranking in the top 10 in the league in both total offense and defense.
The Heat sit in 11th place in the conference with a 7-9 record and have been languishing a touch as their star guard Jimmy Butler battles injuries. They have still boasted one of the strongest defenses in the league this season, ranking 8th with 109.9 points allowed per game.
The Cavs start as 10.5 point favourites at home and although they are 4-1 against the spread in Cleveland, I think this line is a little too high. The Heat have lost 9 games this season but only one by double digits.
Denver Nuggets at Dallas Mavericks
American Airlines Center, 7.30pm (ET)
The game of the night sees the Nuggets traveling to Dallas to take on the Mavericks. Both teams have started the season in strong fashion, sitting in 5th and 6th position in the West with an identical 9-6 record.
The Mavs start as massive 10 point favourites at home due to the fact that star Nuggets Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are out of the lineup with injury. It’ll be tough for the Nuggets on the offensive end without their key weapons.
Even without that pair, I like the unders in this game. The Mavs have had the 2nd ranked defense in the NBA this season, allowing just 105.8 points per game. They should keep a depleted Nuggets side to a low score here.
