NBA Betting Picks: Wednesday, April 21st
Golden State Warriors at Washington Wizards
Capital One Arena, 7pm ET
The Warriors are making a late charge towards the playoffs and look as though they’ll finish in a play-in spot at the very least. Steph Curry has been on an absolute tear in the month of April, averaging 40 points a night and breaking all types of three-point shooting records.
The Wizards are making a big surge towards the playoffs themselves and are in a very similar position to the Warriors, albeit in a different conference. Russell Westbrook has been leading his team sensationally over the course of a couple of months now and is putting up a triple-double in almost every game he plays.
Both of these sides are hungry for wins and it’s showing at the moment with their performance, particularly on the defensive end. With wins at a premium for both clubs at the moment, we expect this to be a more defensive-minded affair than we’re used to be seeing in this matchup.
Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers
Quicken Loans Arena, 7pm ET
The Bulls are one of many teams in the Eastern Conference that are fighting for a top 10 finish. They come into this on a much-needed two-game winning streak and have managed that without All-Star Zach LaVine on the court. Nikola Vucevic has been great for his new club, while Coby White is stepping up in both minutes and production in LaVine’s absence.
The Cavaliers looked as though they might be young team on the rise when they were winning a ton of game earlier in the season, but their young core hit a wall just prior to the All-Star break and have completely fallen off the horse ever since. It’s been another long season for Cavs fans who will be looking forward to the end of their campaign.
These teams met just last week in Chicago when the Bulls proved to be the hungrier and better team on the night. With playoffs still on the line, we expect that to be the case again on Wednesday night with the Bulls prevailing in Cleveland.
Utah Jazz at Houston Rockets
Toyota Center, 8pm ET
The Jazz lost the first of their back-to-back meetings against the Lakers last week, but managed to get revenge in the second meeting in a comfortable fashion. The Jazz rarely lose two games on the spin and have only done so on a couple of occasions this season, which is why they’ve occupied top spot in the West for months now.
The Rockets got off to a solid start to the season before all hell broke loose. It’s ended up being an absolute nightmare season for the organisation and with the roster they’ve currently assembled, it looks as though this will be the first of many tough seasons for H-Town.
It’s no secret that the Jazz are by far the better team in this matchup and should be winning this very comfortably even with Donovan Mitchell out through injury. We’re surprised the spread isn’t a lot bigger here and are happy to take the Jazz to win this by at least a dozen points.
