Champions League MD4 Betting Picks
Atalanta vs Manchester United
Tuesday 4.00pm (ET)
Manchester United have had a very up and down few weeks, losing to Liverpool 5-0 in embarrassing fashion before going on to win against Tottenham 3-0 on the weekend. They have been inconsistent in the EPL to say the least, but their form in the Champions League has been solid, currently sitting atop Group F with a 2-0-1 record through three games.
It’s a tight race in Group F, with Villareal, Atalanta and Young Boys all sitting within three points of Manchester United, so both games in this group are of utmost of important this week. Atalanta’s season in the Serie A this year could be compared to Man U’s in the EPL, currently sitting in fifth place with a 5-4-2 record.
Like the overs here. When these two teams played just a few weeks ago, they combined for 5 goals and they have both been pretty leaky in defense in their respective domestic competitions, allowing a combined 29 goals in 20 games.
Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid
Wednesday 4.00pm (ET)
Liverpol made their return to Anfield in the EPL on the weekend after four straight road games. They led 2-0 against Brighton but squandered the lead to finish with a 2-2 draw in a disappointing result. They now sit three points behind Chelsea at the top of the table, but are in cruise control in the Champions League, having won all three of their games and maintaining a five point lead in Group B.
Atletico Madrid sit in 2nd place in Group B, locked on points with Porto, so this clash is incredibly important for them. They have been solid in the La Liga, losing just one game of their 11 so far to sit in fourth place with a 6-4-1 record.
Hard to look past Liverpool here. Their record in the Champions League has been absolutely dominant since Jurgen Klopp took over, losing just one of their last 22 in the UCL. Back them to win at Anfield, where they have not lost a game in their last 17.
RB Leipzig vs Paris Saint Germain
Wednesday 4.00pm (ET)
Hard for me to believe the value about Paris Saint Germain in this clash. I expected them to be -120 or lower heading into this game, but they have opened at odds of +125, which I am all over here. Group A is an incredibly tight race, with PSG, Man City and Club Brugge all in the hunt. RB Leipzig sit at the bottom of the table with zero points through three games, so their chances of qualifying are all but dead.
PSG need to win this game to give themselves a nice buffer over one or both of the trailing teams, so they will no doubt have much more invested in this one than Leipzig, who could be in cruise control with their UCL chances done and dusted.
PSG are also in much better form, having gone 10-1-1 in Ligue 1 so far this season. On the contrary, RB Leipzig have struggled in the Bundesliga, currently sitting in 8th place with a 4-3-3 record.
