We had an 8-8 week in NFL betting tips to kick off the 2022-23 season throughout the weekend and we’ll be looking to improve on that as we head into Week 2 starting on Thursday night.
Check out our preview for the key games of the weekend as well as our betting picks for every game in Week 2 below.
NFL Week 2 Betting Tips
LA Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
Arrowhead Stadium, Thursday 8.15pm (ET)
Two of the best looking teams from Week 1 will kick off proceedings on Thursday night as the Chiefs host the Chargers from Arrowhead Stadium. Patrick Mahomes looked back to his damaging best in the Week 1 win over the Cardinals, throwing for 360 yards on 30/39 passing, adding five touchdowns in the process.
The Chargers also looked good in Week 1, led by their own dynamic quarterback Justin Herbert, who threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns in the 5 point win over the Raiders. The defence also looked much improved on the back of addition Khalil Mack, who recorded three sacks.
I have no doubt that this will be a high scoring game. These are two of the most high powered offences in the league and while the Chargers played some good defence on the weekend, there is still big question marks as to how it will hold up against a top offence. Back the overs all day long here.
Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers
Lambeau Field, Sunday 8.20pm (ET)
One of the biggest rivalries in the NFL will get a great installment in Week 2 as the Packers host the Bears on Sunday night football. The two teams will be in somewhat unfamiliar territory when they meet, with the Bears currently sitting above the Packers in the division at 1-0.
The Packers have had an absolutely dominant record over their divisional rivals over recent times, winning 21 of their last 24 games regardless of venue and their last six in a row at Lambeau field.
Aaron Rodgers looked a little lost without some of his main offensive weapons in Week 1 but he has made a habit of owning the Bears and this NFC North division for the better part of a decade now. Expect him to bounce back at home and win this one against his bunnies.
Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles
Lincoln Financial Field, Sunday 8.30pm (ET)
Two of the top performing teams form Week 1 will face off on Monday Night Football as the Eagles host the Vikings from 8.30pm. The Eagles offence was firing on all cylinders in Week 1 but the same can’t be said for their defence. They scored 38 points in their win over the Lions but allowed 35 in the process.
The Vikings were really solid on both sides of the ball in their win over the Packers. Wide reciever Justin Jefferson was one of the top performers of the round, accumulating 9 receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
Think we have another high scoring game on our hands here. The Eagles looked pretty uninterested in playing defence in Week 1, combining for 73 points in their game against the Lions. Back the overs again here.
