Indiana Pacers at Detroit Pistons

Little Caesars Arena, 7pm ET
The Pacers got off to a horrendous start this season with six losses from their first six games, with little excuses to go along with it. Thankfully, they’ve been able to find their feet before things got out of hand and are now playing some really good basketball. The Pacers have won five of their last eight games and all three of those losses have been by eight points or less.
The Pistons had a couple of nice wins against the Raptors and Rockets last week, but were quickly brought back down to earth with a demoralising loss at home to the Kings last time out. Being such a new-looking team to a season ago, the Pistons are still trying to work out their rotations and who is and isn’t up to NBA standard.
The Pacers look to have turned a corner after a shaky start and will be eyeing off this game against the Pistons as a big chance to kickstart their season. We expect them to bring the required effort and intensity to cover the spread on the road.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Brooklyn Nets

Barclays Center, 7:30pm ET
The Cavaliers have gotten their campaign off to a fantastic start and will be full of confidence heading into their upcoming road trip. They narrowly lost at home to the Celtics last time out, but their defense was superb once again to make it four straight games of keeping their opponents under 100 points.
The Nets lost Joe Harris ahead of their heavyweight clash with the Rockets on Tuesday and it dearly cost them on offense where they managed to put up just 99 points in a heavy defeat. Albeit very early in the season, alarm bells are starting to ring for the Nets after they suffered their fifth loss by a dozen or more points.
The Nets, when healthy, are clearly the more talented team in this matchup, however, there is little to split these clubs on current form in our opinion. We’re loving what the Cavaliers are bringing night in and night out on the defensive end and believe that if they can play up to their usual level, then they’re a very good chance of covering this big spread.

Houston Rockets at OKC Thunder

Paycom Center, 8pm ET
The Rockets started the season with the youngest roster in the NBA and were expected to struggle for consistency as a result. To be fair to them, they’ve actually been really consistent over the last couple of weeks, losing 12 straight games and 10 of those by double-figures. Most recently they were thumped by the Grizzlies by 36 points, which was arguably their worst performance to date.
The Thunder struggled to be competitive and lost by big margins in their first four games of the season, which was also to be expected for a team in the early stages of a rebuild. However, they’ve since found some form and even went on a four game winning streak, which included a fantastic comeback win against the Lakers. Most recently, the Thunder were beaten by the talented Heat by 13 points at home.
Both of these teams will find it hard to win games this season, but we do have the Thunder ahead of the Rockets in our power rankings. They’ve been far more competitive than them in recent weeks and will only have more of an advantage with this being on their home deck. We love them to cover the spread here.
