We’re back today with another best pick and parlay of the day from a smaller three game slate on Tuesday that sees the Rockets host the Trail Blazers, Spurs welcome the Suns, and the Clippers at home against the Raptors. Good luck to everyone following today!
Best Bet Tuesday December 11th
Toronto Raptors @ Los Angeles Clippers (10:40pm ET)
Our best for a relatively quiet Tuesday comes from the Toronto Raptors at Los Angeles Clippers match-up. This is the first of two games between these teams this season. Last season the Clippers won the regular season series 2-0 on the back of a five point win at home and an 11 point win on the road.
The Raptors come into this game looking to avoid their second three game losing streak of the season. Their last outing was a disappointing five point home loss against the Bucks, where they led by three points with under two minutes to play. That took their season record to 21-7, which is still the best mark in the NBA. Veteran point guard and perennial All-Star Kyle Lowry continues to struggle with his shot in what’s his biggest shooting slump in recent memory. Over his past five games, Lowry has 10 points or less and has shot under 20% from three-point land.
The clippers have gone through a few problems of their own over the past couple of weeks. They required overtime against the lowly Suns yesterday to avoid a season worst three game losing streak, eventually winning that game 124-119. Their record now stands at 17-11, which has them in fourth place in the Western Conference standings. The good news for the Clippers is that they return home for this meeting with the Raptors, where they’ve lost just two games this season, which is the second best mark in the league.
Although the Clippers find themselves on the second night of a back-to-back against a Raptors team with the best record in the NBA this season, we feel they have the cavalry and experience to get the job done. They’ve got arguably the deepest roster in the league and have the defensive players to keep the likes of Kawhi Leonard relatively quiet and Kyle Lowry from regaining his form. We believe that getting a four point start at home for the Clippers is terrific value and are confident and recommending a play here.
Parlay of the Day
With just three games on the Tuesday we’ve been forced to be a bit more creative with our parlay of the Day. For the first leg we’ve extended the Clippers line for a bit more safety. Secondly, we’ve taken a first half handicap on the Spurs. We feel that the thin Suns roster will come out sluggish on the second night of a gruelling back-to-back. Finally, we’ve gone with the Trail Blazers at an alternate line, as we expect them to keep the margin against the Rockets to single digits.
Leg 1: Clippers +8.5 -250
Leg 2: Spurs 1st Half -5.5 -172
Leg 3: Blazers +9.5 -178
Parlay Odds: +250
