It was good to get back on the winners list after a couple of unfortunate days! The Raptors were able to cover their -8.5 line to take our best bet record to 11-7 on the season. We’re now shifting our focus to Sunday, where there’s a big eight-game slate of NBA action. Good luck to all following!
Best Best Saturday November 3rd
Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets (Pepsi Center – 7pm ET)
Our best bet and two bonus plays for Sunday’s slate all come from the Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets match-up. We’ve relentlessly analysed the previous games between these two teams and are confident we’ve found some plays that are great value for money. Sunday’s best bet will be Serbian superstar Nikola Jokic to score UNDER 19.5 points.
This play is definitely not a knock on Jokic ability to score the basketball, as he is obviously an all around talent, it’s more of a recognition of Rudy Gobert’s ability to shut down opposition bigs. We expect the ‘Stifle Tower’ to use all of his 7’9 wingspan to lock down Jokic and force him to become a passer in this one.
In previous meetings with the reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert, Nikola Jokic has had his colours lowered more times than he’d like. In fact, in each of the last four meetings Jokic has failed to score more than 13 points.
This is Jokic last four games against the Jazz:
19/10/17 – 36 minutes, 7 points
29/11/17 – 26 minutes, 7 points
27/12/17 – 26 minutes, 13 points
6/1/18 – 32 minutes, 8 points
As you can see, Jokic has really struggled to deal with Gobert’s incredible length and athleticism. He’s averaged just 8.25 points in their last four meetings, and while he will most likely fair better than that, we can’t see him going off for 20+ points.
Nikola Jokic UNDER 19.5 Points – $1.84 at Sportsbet
As mentioned above, both our bonus tips for Sunday are also from the Utah at Denver match-up. The first of the two is on the Nuggets line (-4). Everything just points to a comfortable win for the Nuggets in this one. Firstly, Utah are on the second night of a back-to-back and are without their best scorer in Donovan Mitchell. Secondly, Denver have won their last 11 home games, including the last five against Utah, where they’ve covered the spread in all of them. Finally, the Nuggets are 7-1 on the season and have looked much better than the struggling 4-4 Jazz, who are on a two-game losing streak.
Denver Nuggets -4 Handicap – $1.92 at Sportsbet
The second bonus play for Sunday is on total points to be under 211.5 in the Utah at Denver game. Both teams are better on the defensive end then they are offensively, which has led to 12 of the last 13 meetings between these two teams going under the total points line. We expect that trend to continue.
Utah at Denver Total Points Under 211.5 – $1.90 at Bet365
