Another absolute heartbreaker for us today with our best pick of the day looking well on its way to a win for most of the game. Unfortunately, however the Timberwolves made a buzzer-beating lay-up to eclipse the overs and hand us the loss. It was a bitter one to swallow, but we must move on and look to bounce back with the 10-game slate on Friday. As always, good luck to everyone following!
Best Bet Friday January 25th
Toronto Raptors @ Houston Rockets (8pm ET)
Our best pick from the jam-packed Friday slate comes from the cross-conference battle between the Toronto Raptors and the Houston Rockets. This is the first of two meetings between these teams this season. The last time they met was back in March 2018 when the Raptors won by three points at home, although a lot has change since then for both ball clubs.
The Raptors come into this game off a very poor result against the Pacers. They were on the luck side of an Oladipo mid-game injury (who we wish all the best to), but were unable to overcome their role players down the stretch. However, the Raptors will most likely welcome superstar forward Kawhi Leonard back into the team, who has been missing from the line-up over the last four games due to precautionary rest. Obviously, the Raptors are a far better team when the perennial All-Star suits up, and by all reports he’s scheduled to return. The Raptors are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference standings with an overall record of 36-14, which has them less than half a game behind the Bucks in first.
The Rockets have had their fair share of struggles this season, but obviously have an absolute weapon at the guard position in James Harden. He’s ultimately single handedly carries this Rockets outfit to a respectable position in the Western Conference standings where they sit in fifth position.
The Rockets come into this as slight favourites and we have no idea why. The Raptors May be coming off a loss, but they’re by far the form team of this contest. They have a much stronger squad and have a good match-up for the Rockets should Kawhi Leonard play.
