After a few days off for the festive season, we return with our betting picks for the biggest regular season day in the NBA – Christmas Day. There are five big games set to take place over the wonderful day, and we’ve come up with our best play from the lot. So, without further ado here is our best Pick of the Day! Good luck to everyone following and Merry Christmas to all!
Best Bet Tuesday December 25th
Los Angeles Lakers @ Golden State Warriors (8pm ET)
Our best bet from the Christmas Day slate comes from the Western Conference showdown between the Lakers and Warriors at Oracle Arena (8pm ET). This is the first meeting between these teams this season and it couldn’t have come on a better day. The new look Lakers led by LeBron James are seen as a serious threat to the Warriors this season, but they’ll be looking to stamp their authority with a big win to let the league know who the back-to-back champs are.
We’ve decided to steer clear of a bet on the spread here, opting to make a play on a player prop instead – which is something we’ve had tremendous success with this season. In this instance, we’ve made a play on LeBron James to eclipse his points line (27.5 at time of posting).
The King has a history of performing on the big stage, particularly in the latter stages of his career, even more so against the Warriors. James has come up against the Warriors in each of the last four Finals and has averaged over 30 points during those four series. Why do we expect this to happen tomorrow though? Because it’s going to be a playoff like atmosphere and James is going to remind everyone why he’s named ‘The King.
Above you can see the impact LeBron James has when he’s played against the Warriors in the playoffs. Look back to last season when he amazingly averaged 34 points a game in a team that lost all four games. Don’t think for a second that he’ll take this one lightly. He came to LA for one reason and one reason only – to increase his already impeccable legacy. We have him top scoring in this contest with 35+ points and taking this to down to the wire.
