Milwaukee Bucks at Atlanta Hawks
State Farm Arena, 8:30pm ET
Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals was a good one if you’re associated with the Bucks because they were far too good for the Hawks en route to a classy 11-point win where they went wire to wire. Unfortunately, however, the Bucks were without 2x MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo who missed due to the knee injury he suffered in the third quarter of Game 4. Likewise, Hawks superstar Trae Young also missed through an injury he suffered in the game prior.
Due to the injury the Greek Freak suffered earlier in the series, he’s expected to miss once again in Game 6 and remains in doubt for the rest of the series should it progress to a Game 7. On a positive note, the Bucks had a quarter of players fill the void he left in Game 5, with all of Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis scoring 22+ points.
For the Hawks, they got great contribution out of Bogdan Bogdanovic in their Game 5 loss with the two-guard stepping up with 28 points that included seven three-pointers. Aside from him however, significant contributions were few and far between from the Hawks without Trae Young in the game.
It’s highly likely that Giannis Antetokounmpo with miss again via a knee injury, which is really bad news for the Bucks. In contrast, it’s expected that Trae Young will return from his bone bruising injury for this crucial Game 6. Even if Young doesn’t return, we still have to give the Hawks the edge at home. It’s a do or die game for their season and we expect their intensity to be sky high as a result. Take them to cover the small spread on Saturday night.
