We had yet another successful day inside the NBA bubble, hitting on two out of three of our best picks. We now turn our attention to the six game slate on Friday, where we’ll look to keep the winners flowing. Check out our three best picks from the slate below and good luck if following!
NBA Picks Friday, August 7th
OKC Thunder at Memphis Grizzlies
OKC continue to do what they’ve done all season, which is impress us time and time again. They were fantastic against the Lakers on Wednesday night, restricting them to just 86 points en route to an easy win. They’re now 42-25 on the season, which is far greater than anyone could’ve imagined.
The Grizzlies just can’t get it together in the bubble and are now a very real chance of missing the playoffs altogether. They’re 0-4 in Orlando and are now just 0.5 games ahead of the Trail Blazers in ninth.
Memphis have been thoroughly disappointing to date and it’s hard to see them just flicking the switch against a quality opponent in OKC. The spread has been set at just 4.5 here, which we’re confident the Thunder can cover.
Sacramento Kings at Brooklyn Nets
The Kings finally found some form in the bubble with a win over the Pelicans in their most recent outing. Fox was at his fantastic best and Bogdanovic was shooting the lights out. Despite the win, a playoff berth still seems very unlikely at this stage.
The Nets have the most decimated roster in the bubble and their results will show you that. They were absolutely thumped by the Celtics last time out and are now 1-3 since the restart. They will be playing in the playoffs, but they’re no chance to go beyond the first round.
The Kings still have a glimmer of hope and that’ll be enough to drive them against the Nets here. The spread at 4.5 seems far, far too short and we’re really keen to exploit it with a big bet on the Kings to cover.
Boston Celtics at Toronto Raptors
The Celtics have been solid enough in their time in the bubble to have faith they’ll be a factor in the playoffs. They’re just 2-2- but Brad Stevens has rested a couple of his main troops in most games to date.
The Raptors have probably been the most impressive team in Orlando so far and come into this 3-0 since the restart. They’ve clearly been the best defensive team t date and loom as a huge threat in the playoffs.
This is the must-watch game of the slate and should be excellent viewing. Both teams are defensive juggernauts when they’re on song, so it probably won’t be a high-scoring affair. There’s plenty of way you can play this game, but on current form we see the Raptors to cover the spread as the best way to attack it.
