NFL Week 12 Betting Picks

New England Patriots at Minnesota Vikings

Thursday 8.12pm (ET)
The Patriots have won their last three in a row and now sit just one game behind the AFC East leading Dolphins and Bills. They recorded a scrappy win over the Jets in Week 11 in which just 10 points were scored. They have maintained one of the best defenses in the league this season, allowing just 16.9 points per game, ranking 2nd in that category.
The Vikings were one of the hottest teams in the NFL on the back of seven straight wins but were dealt a reality check by the Cowboys in Week 11, going down 40-3 at home. They still sit atop the lackluster NFC North by a whopping four games, so something pretty miraculous would need to happen for them to squander the division championship.
The Vikings started as high as 3.5 point favourites at home but that has already been backed into just 2.5 points here. Tough line to call either way so I’m going for the over here. The Vikings allow 23.1 points per game this season, one of the higher marks for teams with good records.

Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles

Sunday 8.20pm (ET)
The Eagles host the Packers on Sunday night football in Week 12, looking to become the first team to 10 wins in the 2022-23 season. The Eagles bounced back from a loss to the Commanders in Week 10 with a scrappy victory over the Colts on the weekend. They put up just 17 points in the win, their first time scoring under 20 points all season.
Speaking of offensive concerns, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have been extremely disappointing on that side of the ball this season. They rank 24th in the league in total offense, averaging just 18.4 points per game. They have a 4-7 record and went down 27-17 to the Titans on the weekend.
The Eagles start as 6.5 point favourites at home but I’m siding against them here. They have shown real vulnerability over the last few weeks as their offense has struggled to put up numbers. I think 6.5 points is too many here.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts

Monday 8.15pm (ET)
Certainly not the most glamorous of matchups on Monday night football this week as the Colts host the Steelers from 8.15pm. The Steelers are 3-7 this season but have been one of the more competitve bad teams in the league. They are 4-5-1 against the spread and went down to a strong Bengals team by just 7 points in a high scoring game on the weekend.
The Colts have had a disappointing year given their pre-season expectations and at 4-6 and three games behind the AFC South leading Titans, another loss this season would almost certainly surrender the division.
The Colts start as 2.5 point favourites on the road and although I’ve probably respected the Steelers effort more this season, I can’t see them winning this one on the road. Their competitiveness has brought this line into one I can’t back them at.
