Another great day for us yesterday with Giannis Antetokounmpo passing his 35.5 PRA line with plenty of time to spare, making it four wins from our last five best bets. We also found plenty of winners in the other games, going 9/14 on all tips for the day, all at odds of at least -125. However, there’s no time to get ahead of ourselves as we have another big day of NBA action coming up on Tuesday.
Once again, we’ve provided our best bet for the day, as well as our best NBA betting picks for all the other games. Good luck to everyone following!
Best Best Tuesday November 20th
Brooklyn Nets @ Miami Heat (American Airlines Arena, 8:30pm ET)
Our best bet from a tough four-game Tuesday slate comes from the Brooklyn Nets at Miami Heat match-up. The head-to-head result here is almost impossible to pick, due to injuries, inconsistent form and a lack of quality and depth on both rosters. However, we believe we’ve found excellent value elsewhere with a play on Brooklyn Nets point guard, D’Angelo Russell.
D’Angelo Russell is an intriguing player, he can be both fantastic and extremely frustrating in the space of 30 seconds. But one things for sure – he oozes talent.
Russell hasn’t quite taken the leap that most people (us included) thought he might this season. In 2017/18 he averaged 15.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 25.7 minutes, compared to this season (17 games in) where he averages 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 27.6 minutes. We put his only slight progression this season down to the fact that the Nets bat fairly deep in the guard positions. There’s only so many minutes that Russell can play with the likes of LeVert, Dimwiddie, Crabbe and Harris all vying for court time. Although now that LeVert is out for an extended period of time, we feel the time is now for D-Russ.
We were tempted to make a play on Russell’s Overs the game after LeVert (Nets current leading scorer) went down with a nasty ankle dislocation. However, we opted to play it safe and wait to see if what we thought might happen, happened. That is, that Russell gets increased court time and a higher usage rate. Now that we know that this is the case (minutes +3, more FGA per game in the three games without LeVert) and the sportsbooks are yet to adjust their lines, we think it’s time to pull the trigger.
Pick: D’Angelo Russell Over 23.5 Points + Assists -117 at 888Sport
