2018-19 NBA Betting Picks: Thursday February 14th

Unfortunately our streak had to come to an end on Tuesday with the Sixers unable to get the job done against the Celtics. Joel Embiid was defended beautifully by Al Horford and co. while the other Sixer stars just couldn’t quite fill the void. It was disappointing, but we now must move on and try to bounce back with a winner form the huge 11-game slate on Wednesday. Check out our best bet for the big day tomorrow and good luck to everyone following!

Best Bet Wednesday February 13th

Miami het @ Dallas Mavericks (American Airlines Center, 8:30pm ET)

Our best bet from the 11 games being played on Wednesday night comes from the Miami Heat at Dallas Mavericks match-up, which is set to be played at 8:30pm (ET) at the terrific American Airlines Arena In Dallas, Texas. This will be the second and final time these two teams meet this season. The Heat won the opening match-up by seven points (95-88) on their home deck in Miami on January 29th, 2019. The Heat’s Hassan Whiteside was the best player on the court that night with 25 points and 14 rebounds, although Mavericks rookie sensation Luka Doncic was a DNP.

Miami Heat come into this game with three losses on the spin and six from their last seven. It’s been another really tough stretch for a Heat team that have pretty much underwhelmed us since opening night back in October. They’ve been far too consistent to be considerer a threat in the Eastern Conference, and currently sit in ninth spot in the standings with a dismal 25-30 record. Star point guard Goran Dragic continues to miss through injury, while legend Dwyane Wade is labelled as a game time decision for this encounter.

The Dallas Mavericks have been fairly impressive this season with only a couple of tough stretches throughout their campaign. They come into this off a 16 points loss to the Rockets (120-104) where James Harden incredibly notched up his 30th straight 30-point game on his quest to best the great Wilt Chamberlain. Luka Doncic was again brilliant in that game, posting 21 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. As it stands, the Mavericks are in 11th spot in the stacked Western Conference standings with a record of 26-30.

The Heat have been really poor lately, finding themselves in the midst of yet another tough month. They’re currently at the back end of a season long five game road trip and are sure to be feeling fatigued after so many tough games. On the other hand, the Mavericks return home where they’ve amassed an outstanding 20-8 record this season, which is the best mark of any team currently outside the top eight in each conference. They’re also in desperate need fo a win, which we feel they’ll get here in comfortable fashion, covering the small spread in the process.
