NBA Conference Finals Game 5 Betting Picks
Miami Heat at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, Thursday 8:30pm (ET)
The Miami Heat were on their home floor in Game 4 and had the opportunity to close out their Eastern Conference Finals matchup with the Boston Celtics, and they looked well on their way to doing so when they had a handy lead at the half. However, the Celtics dug deep in the third quarter to mount a comeback and build a lead of their own that was enough to win and force a Game 5.
The Celtics were finally able to find some consistency on both ends of the floor in Game 4, and were able to limit Jimmy Butler’s impact on offense, which is something all teams have struggled with in the playoffs so far. Butler still finished the night with 29 points, but it took him 21 shots and he finished shooting 42.9% from the floor.
Another noticeable change in Game 4 was the struggled from some of the Heat’s quote on quote “other plays”, particularly with their shooting from long range. The likes of Caleb Martin, Max Strus, and Gabe Vincent had been stroking it nicely in the first three games, but couldn’t throw it into the ocean last start.
It remains to be seen what type of Boston Celtics outfit will show up for Game 4, because their game-to-game performances in these playoffs have been nothing short of a roller coaster. With that in mind, you have to fancy the Heat to cover the spread which is a whopping +8. They are yet to lose back-to-back games in these playoffs and will be desperate to close out the series on Thursday night.
